It’s getting close

D.I.Y is hard! I never thought painting is so difficult. Myself, my boyfriend and dad painted all the walls and ceilings last weekend. More painting this weekend as we still need to paint the doors, door frames and skirting boards.

That’s only the end of the painting part, we still need to tile the kitchen and floorboard the rest of the rooms.

I can’t wait to move in though. I’ve waited so long already.

I won’t be able to show any pictures for a while as I’m going to take some photos when all the furniture are in place. Our sofa won’t be delivered till June!!! And we still haven’t decided which TV to buy.

D.I.Y

We got the keys to the flat last Friday and spent the whole weekend working on it. We started out by cleaning the place as the previous owner didn’t really clean (especially her sinks and oven). There was about a 2mm layer of limescale on all her sinks, taps and the shower tap/head! I spent a whole days scrubbing all the limescale off the the sink in the kitchen and my boyfriend spent his day cleaning the two bathroom sinks. We also manage to get the ceiling painted.

We still have loads to do. We still need to

Paint walls (two layers)
Paint doors, window sills and skirting boards (would like to mention we have 8 doors!)
Remove all the carpets (the carpet is pretty old)
Floorboard most of the rooms
Carpet the bedroom
More cleaning!

I’ve got some time off this week so hopefully will be able to get loads done by the end of this weekend. I want to move in already. I actually want to start buying things for the flat so it will feel personalised. Won’t be able to do that for another week though.

It’s been a long wait but we finally made it I will post pictures when it’s all done up.

Once I settle into the flat, I’ll have more time to spent on the blogging world. I’ve pretty much neglected you guys and haven’t read many blog post for a while. Thanks everyone who is still following me *hugs*

I was having fun with Instagram. I had it installed on my iPhone but never used bothered using it for a while. I’m loving the blur and tilt shift effect though.

We’re getting the keys for our flat this Friday. It’s been a long wait and we’ve finally made it. It’s going to be DIY time for a few weeks then we’ll be able to move in.

There isn’t much to do really. We need to paint the place, put in new floorboards & carpet and clean the place. Off course we need to buy a few furnitures but we can easily pick them up from Ikea. The flat is very close to an Ikea so will be easy for us to pop round and buy a few small bits.

Kitchen equipment is going to be a big spend. Good cookwares are expensive. I suppose you only buy them once and they last for years. We found many awesome kitchen gadgets, and totally can’t wait to get our hands on them

We also have loads of plans for the future in our little flat…can’t wait!!

More overtime this week. I can’t wait for the project to finish!

I know I haven’t blogged in a while…again =(

There’s some exciting times coming up this month!! I’ll be getting my flat…finally. The actual completion date isn’t set yet but it will definitely be in the next three weeks. We signed the contact for the place and paid part of the deposit last week so there’s no turning back.

Over the weekend we went flat shopping. It was pretty tiring, we looked in every furniture store in the area for a suitable sofa, bed, coffee table and dinning table. We ordered a very very morden looking sofa and coffee table…so excited about it. We decided to keep my boyfriend’s mattress and buy a small bed base as his bed base has a massive rim around it which we don’t have space for in the bedroom. We’re going to buy the dinning table later once we’ve fitted the sofa into the living room (we don’t have a separate dinning room).

I think we’re pretty much sorted on what furniture we need. We’re going to have a very Ikea style flat as most of the things are going to be from Ikea (apart from the sofa and coffee table).

Anyways, back to watching more Korean drama!
