Review : Egyptian Magic Skin Cream

Filed under: Health & Beauty, Skin Care

Finally a review on the Egyptian Magic cream I got a while. Going to make the review a quick one though. I’m going to do this review in Q&A format.

I have used the Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream for a week and a half now. I use it only at night time.

What does the cream look like?

It’s like solid wax in a tub however when you rub it with your fingers, it sort melts into runny paste on your fingers.

If it’s so hard how do you use it?

I just run two fingers in circular motion on the surface of the cream. It will melt slightly and a small amount will stick to my fingers. Then I apply whatever is on my fingers to a section of my face. I will need to do that about 5 times to cover my whole face in a thin layer.

What does the cream feel like on the skin?

Oily! That’s the reason I use it at night because it makes the skin all oily and shiny.

Won’t that clog your pores?

I thought that too when I first used it but when I woke up in my morning my skin was extremely hydrated and soft didn’t clog my pores at all. I have heard that some people gain spots and had cloggy pores afterwards. I use a small amount on my face, so it’s only a thin layer on my face.

The result after a week and a half
Amazing! My skin is less discoloured and more even toned. My blemishes have faded but I’m not sure if that is due to the cream because this cream doesn’t claim to heal blemish.

Before I started this cream treatment, I had many red areas especially on my cheeks and the side of my nose. I also had many brown scars from spots. That’s pretty much cleared apart from a few spots, a few small blemishes and dark spots that were caused by sun damage.

The price

The cream is about $36 (about £35 in the UK) which is pretty expensive for a cream. However it last for a long time as you don’t use much at each time. For me, a general tub of day cream will last 6-8 weeks, so considering the amount I use each night I think this magic cream will probably last 6 months.

I will update again after a few months. I can’t tell its effect completely because I’ve only used it for a short period.

Second purchase from E.L.F & Egyptian Magic

E.L.F

Yesterday I received my second batch of E.L.F products. On Tuesday there was a promotion for UK and EU customers. The promotion was free shipping for orders over £10 and also free 3x Super Glossy Lip Shine. I placed to separate orders each just over £10 so I’ll get 6 lip gloss.

Here are the products I bought:

  • Studio Corrective Concealer
  • Studio High Definition Powder
  • Studio Shimmering Patette
  • Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer
  • 2x Eye Shadow Brush
  • Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Matte Brown
  • 6 lip gloss for FREE

The packing for the studio range is really nice. I haven’t had a chance to use any of the products yet. I will get round to using them this soon. I’ll write a review on most of the items.

You can see the review I wrote on my very first ELF purchase here.

Egyptian Magic

I also received the famous Egyptian Magic from my boyfriends yesterday. I’ve heard many good review about this product from YouTube make up gurus so decided to try it out.

It’s made from natural ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • Beeswax
  • Honey
  • Pollen
  • Royal Jelly
  • Propolis Extracts

It claims that it heals scars, burns, eczema & psoriasis and much more. You can find out the full detail here. I wanted this product to help with my blemish, scars and discolour.

Here’s a picture of my skin from last night. You can see I have many blemishes and pretty uneven skin tone.

I’m replacing my night cream with the Egyptian Magic. I will find out how magical this product really is in a week or so and will update with another picture.

Review: E45 Cream

Filed under: Health & Beauty, Skin Care

Two dark, dry and flaky patches suddenly appeared on either corners of my mouth about two weeks ago. It started to itch after a while as well. I continued with my regular facial routine hopefully that it will fade over time but I was wrong! Last week, I purchased a tub of E45 cream for the dry areas around my mouth after talking to a chemist at my local pharmacy. She recommended the cream to me.
E45 is a special treatment cream for dry and sensitive skin. It can be purchased from most drug stores and pharmacy. It says that it heals flaky, itchy and dry skin. People with eczema will use this often to improve their skin.

Amazing, after 5 days those two patches completely healed! As well as using it on those two patches twice a day (day & night) I also used it on my cheeks that were becoming dry from the weather and nothing was really helping. Surprisingly my blemish faded in redness dramatically. The cream also hydrated my cheek area so they aren’t dry anymore.

From my own experience I would highly recommended this cream for anyone that have very dry skin or your skin (or areas of it) becomes very dry occasionally. If you don’t normally have dry skin (i.e. normal, oily, combination skin type), I would suggest that you only use this cream for the period when your skin is very dry and switch back for your normal cream after it has healed.

My blemish did fade dramatically (not as red as it was last week) but I can’t be sure that was due to the cream. The package doesn’t say that it helps with blemish therefore it could just be a coincidence that mine faded after using this cream. I have been following other procedures (e.g. drinking more water, sleeping more) for 4 weeks now so all that effort might have just suddenly decide to kick in at around the same time.

I’m extremely interested to find out what others thought about this product so if you have tried it before please share your experience.
