The missing 10th digit
I needed to activate online banking for one of the bank accounts. So the other day, I request for an online activation code via the website. I received the code yesterday and jump onto the website straight away to activate it. I entered the code as I was instructed and it came back with the error “The activate code must be 10 digits”. I typed it in again thinking I mistyped, again came back with the same error. The confusion began. I counted the number of digits on the letter and there was only 9 digits. I re-counted several times. I looked everywhere for the 10th digit but couldn’t find it. Pretty stupid isn’t it? I have to re-request for another activation code. They better not send me the same code.
I’m not sure what else to say about that as it’s pretty silly and annoying. I was getting all ready to sort out my bank accounts and prepare for buying a flat then a stupid computer fault comes along. Clearly, the bank’s system generated the wrong activation code.
Trying to be organise at the moment, as you all know I’m looking to buy a flat with my boyfriend. That’s a big step to take. Owning property will come with great responsibility and organisation. I am ready for it but I’m not quiet ready at the same time. There’s still so much I don’t know about the process. I don’t think you can ever be fully ready for it, you just have to do it and learn from the experience.
This whole buying house process is going to be pretty stressful. I heard it’s on the most stressful thing in life. At least I won’t need to do this again for a few years.
On top of the issues of buying a flat, my iPhone 4 died on me today. I have it on my work desk all the time. I went to turn it on to see if my boyfriend has replied to my text. Pressed the “home” button…nothing happened. Pressed again…nothing happened. I was sure I charged it over night. Plugged it in to charge, left it for a while…again still black. *PANIC* Unsure what to do next so asked around my table and no one knew. Eventually someone said I should do a hard reset where I hold the power and home button down for 10-20secs. Wa-la it turned on. Stupid phone gave me a heart attack today. Can’t have it dying on my now, can’t afford to buy a new one at the moment.
Grrr! A bank has a bug in their activation-code generator? GRRR! That shouldn’t ever happen.

I’ve never had something like that happen. That’s unbelievable they’d actually GENERATE a wrong amount of digits!
That has happened to my ex iPod Touch so many times! It’s like that with all Apple products you hold down the power and home for a certain amount of time to reset. But at least you have an iPhone =) I have a flippy.
Yup I am half Korean and I look completely Asian. People think I’m Chinese. I’d find it funny to be stared at, lol! When I was in Korea I didn’t even get stared at, probably because my style fits in too well.

Haha that thing with the iPhone happened to me a couple of times. But the first time it did, I almost had a heart attack just like you! Those things can drawn all of you energy in a second, right?
As for the bank, that is quite annoying, especially that you are already stressed out with finding and buying a flat and you really don’t need unnecessary stress. Hope they sent you a good code!
