Goals again?
Super busy at work yesterday, which made the day go by faster but hectic. Two of the developers are off on holiday so I had to take over some urgent request from the projects that they were following as well as doing work from my own projects. One of them came back today so it’s was less manic.
I got two weeks off work soon which I’m so looking forward to. Hopefully I’ll get loads done during these two weeks. I’m going to try and be productive and make the most of it. I still have four cluster bracelets to make which I just haven’t had the time for and I need to improve the store layout as well. On top of that I need to back up and format my computer as well as removing old files to free up some space.
I would have time to do most of them in the evenings after work however I spend that time playing Aion. I’m almost at the stage where I don’t need to be playing many hours a day as just do the day daily things. I can leave all the long hard things for the weekends. Hopefully it’ll give me time to finish these cluster bracelets as I know many are really anxious to see more since I put up the first one.
Shall I go back to having monthly goals? I did monthly goals for a few months at the start of the year but I gave up after a while. I want to start them again to help me keep on track on things, but I wonder if I’ll give up again. I guess there’s no harm in trying.

I think that the monthly goals work really well for some people, and not as well for others. But definitely never hurts to try!
I can’t wait to see your new additions to your store. I love the necklace that I got from you, and love staring at the pictures, even if I don’t buy anything. They’re all so pretty!

Ooo lucky you to have days off from work! I have 6 days off from school, yay! I’m going to be productive as well, such as build my new website.
I don’t think that monthly goals thing would work for me. Too many things ruin my plans I just gave up long ago.

having some time off should be nice
Especially since you’re stuck working so much while the other people are away!!!
I just glanced through your shop, and everything looks so amazing!!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with if you decide to make a new layout
I really love the layout you have on here!!!
How do you find working as a software developer…? I think that’s the path i’m heading down, so I’d love some advice! (i’m making a rather big assumption that you are a software developer.. lol)

Days off are always nice. I can’t wait to start on the store layout, hopefully I will find time to do it.
I’m not a software developer. I’m a web developer. My day to day role is building and maintaining client websites. I suppose its the similar as software developer just on a different platform. I’m not sure what sort of advice to give, what do you want to know?

I think you should try setting some goals again! It won’t hurt anything if you don’t finish them all, and just having them might help you to budget your time better. I write a lot of to-do lists because otherwise I get really stressed having so many things floating around in my head that I need to do. It helps me organize my thoughts and prioritize things, even if I don’t always get to everything on the list.

The mobile developer I work with was on vacation last week and it was crazy without him… I had to try and compromise. I love that we work in the same industry, it’s great to have someone else who knows how it can be.
The odd thing with me is that if I’m not working (see my long vacant summer earlier this year….) I have the absolute hardest time being productive. When I’m working (now!) I use every bit of my free time wisely because I know how precious it is. And the moments where I do allow myself to sit and play a game are treasured. In fact, I find myself 10x as productive now that I’m working! Maybe I need that working mentality to be brought home to get things done.
If monthly goals work for you, I say go with it. I’ve learned after many years not to set goals for myself. I do better winging it. Goals usually make me feel like I’ve failed at not doing something or stress me out… They’re too linear for me. We’re all different though, and it takes a lot of trial and error to find out what motivates you!

I’m the same really! When I’m working I always think “right this weekend I’m going to get all these things done” but when it gets to weekend, I just can’t be bothered. I guess I just want to laz around the house because I can and doesn’t happen so often.
