Exercising while standing

My gym has finally got a Power Plate machine! Their machines are mainly consist of a vibrating base. You stand or sit in certain positions on the plate or perform particular movements to work that part of the body. Its so quick and easy but tiring. You basically just stand or sit!

Power Plate

Apparently, 10 min on the power plate is 60 mins of other exercise. If that’s true then wow!

Since there’s this amazing machine now, I’m going to the gym everyday after work. All I have to do is go there and stand or do some minor movements for 5-10 mins, easy right?

I lose the motivation to exercise since I came back from Hong Kong. Before Hong Kong I was pretty thin, now I’m fat again. Hopefully this quick and easy machine will keep me going to the gym. Well I actually hope it works.

Now that I work full time I sit for many hours a day, everyday. I think I’m starting to get strain injuries on my back and shoulders…or maybe I’m just being paranoid. I really need to do exercise to avoid all these problems.

I have to admit, I’m not very active. My day to day life is just work and home. I don’t do much at home other than sit at the computer. Hopefully that will all change once I get my own place (still living at parents), at least I’ll have to do housework. There won’t be much as the place will be super small but better than nothing right?

This sounds… so cool. xD I usually hate these kinds of machines and refuse to believe it’s that easy. I always try to think of an alternative. I’m sure you’ve heard of the Ab Circle Pro and similar products – if they’re “just like doing a hundred situps” as they claim, then I’d rather do the hundred situps because I like them. In this case of the vibrating base, I have a habit of shaking my leg and fidgeting, can I do that instead? :P

I hope the machine works for you! Since getting my new job I have also been sitting at a desk a lot. I haven’t really had time to exercise either… D: And now the weather is getting warmer, argh!

I’m so sick of doing housework for my parents. I would rather do it for myself. I can’t wait to live alone but I know that’ll be in a while. The thing is, I wouldn’t mind doing a lot of things for myself but not for others. I guess I am selfish in that sense haha…

I’m a bit unsure about these machines too. It’s a bit too easy right? I’m going to give it a try for a few weeks and see if it does anything. I’ve just read loads of good things about it.

Sitting down all day is so bad! Can really feel it after 2 years.

That sounds really interesting! I’m an active sort of person, though, and really impatient, so I don’t think those machines would work well with me, haha. I usually opt for some kind of aerobic workout, like zumba (<3). I'm also a dancer, so I get a lot of my workout that way too :)

I’ll be honest and say that I’m a bit skeptical of how well it’ll work, but it couldn’t hurt to try it out, especially since you weren’t the one who bought it.

There will be housework once you move out, but it won’t be very much until you have little kids to take care of. I’ve got my own dorm room and my boyfriend has an apartment and neither one of does a lot of housework. However, my mom was always busy taking care of my brother and me because we got everything messy.

When I lived away from home during university I had to do housework but your’re right, it’s not very much. Hoovering and tidying the place took no time at all.

Wow, that machine looks huge! :P

Ah, I too live with my parents, but only because I attend a jr. college in the city next over so there wouldn’t be a point trying to find my own place. Once I transfer out, I’ll need to find my own place or live with my siblings. I don’t even have my own car yet. xD That’s life for ya.

I also am not a very active person. I am neither big nor skinny (I’m a mere 112 pounds, but when I eat, it goes up a little bit). I am short and have big arms, but I don’t think I need to go to the gym. I’m hoping to buy a bicycle in the near future which I plan to use as a form of being active in the morning since I absolutely hate running and walking (I find them both to be quite boring). I also try to eat healthy and cut down on my rice intake, lol.

Exercising is something I still need to do. I told myself I will go to the gym when I go back to the Uni but I haven’t gone once yet. :( But I did walk miles from school to my friend’s house as a workout. Hahas…I am lazy. I get tired really easily though. I should really go to the gym to get more stamina?

That exercising machine sounds cool! I hope there is one at my school’s gym, but I highly doubt it. I’m going to try the bicycle if it adjusts since I am so short!! But that exercise machine looks so much easier to navigate and use than any other exercising machine.

Oh gosh, I’m exactly the same. I’m super duper short that I can’t use some of the machines, mainly the bikes! They are too high for me even when I adjust it to the shortest. I only use the running machine and this power plate now.

Now that’s interesting! XD I hope it will work good as well :3 Exercising is really good for you so I hope you can exercise often :) (Maybe I should try to exercise more as well xD)

Wow, that seems really cool. If it works like it says it does then it’s completely awesome. I wonder if any of the gyms where I live has any…..I’m now on a mission to find out!

I was planning to get up to run every morning but I did it for 2 mornings and then I just…became lazy and died. I should really get back to it soon. And in times like these, those machines will come in useful. Everyone’s rushing everywhere and can’t even find time to eat and these machines will surely help to save a lot of time. I think I need one.

OMG, I love this. :D I wish the gyms around my area had these. Then I wouldn’t have a problem going to the gym.

I’m not very active either. But I have to start becoming so, so to help myself I started a fitness blog. lol Hopefully that’ll keep my motivated to keep in shape.

I have just started exercising regularly and I hope I can keep it up. I think I got fed up with not doing something I knew I should be doing. Getting fed up with myself has probably been the fuel for me doing a lot of things. You have to want to.

I hope I can become that independent soon, to be able to move out. I just don’t know that it will happen.

Wow if that 10 minute thing is true then this is one amazing machine! I’ve never even heard of such a thing.

I’m not very active either. My days are class then home but I’m already out so long I get tired that I can’t do anything anymore. Housework isn’t even exercise, haha.

Sweeet new layout by the way. I love how you have the categories up there. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a new layout on your blog since we started commenting!

I get tired after work too so it’s really hard to find the motivation to go to the gym.

I haven’t changed layout for a year xD been meaning to but never got round to it.
