City view of Hong Kong
It was a while ago when I went to Hong Kong but I never posted any photos and blogged about it. Although it’s a little late but it’s better than none. I went for two weeks and took loads of photos so I’m going to span this over a few entries.
Hong Kong is extremely small, it’s like a slightly larger version of a major city. Although it is small, it is highly populated. Tall skyscrapers covers the majority of Hong Kong. The main city streets are constantly packed with people and shops. Hong Kong is known for its excessive amount of shops and brands from all round Asia. You can find Hong Kong’s own brands, Taiwanese brands, western brands, Chinese brands and the very popular Korean and Japanese brands.
Hong Kong does have a few non city like places that are absolutely beautiful.
In this post I’m going to share with you photos of the city view of Hong Kong.

This photo was taken at Central, Hong Kong. Central is the business and bank district of Hong Kong.

This is the view on the way up the Peak via tram. The Peak is the highest part of Hong Kong.

View of the city from the highest point at the Peak.

View of the harbour on the other side from my apartment window.

Symphony of Lights – world’s largest permanent light and sound show involving 44 buildings along both sides of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong.

IFC is the new heart of Hong Kong and includes Hong Kong’s tallest office building, a luxury shopping mall and an entertainment complex.

This is one of the tallest residential building in Hong Kong.
I will be posting more photos of Hong Kong including:
- Food of Hong Kong
- Desserts of Hong Kong
- Underwater Hong Kong (from Ocean Park)
- Natural Hong Kong (from Ocean Park)
- Magical Hong Kong (from Disney Land)

Dunno if you’ve ever been in the US, but those pictures remind me of Manhattan, except that they’re much much bigger – probably because it was built long after Manhattan. It also looks like pictures of Singapore that I’ve seen on the Internet.
I’ll have to see the light show if I’m ever over there. Thanks for the pictures!

YAY hong kong photos!
I’ve heard about the symphony lights! Is it always “on” when it’s night time? I feel like that’s a dumb question, but I’m really clueless lol

Symphony of Lights is on at 8pm everyday. It’s about 10mins long.

O.O omg… niccceee… I wanna live in an apt with a view like that every night XD

When I went to Philippines last year, my dad went to Hong Kong for some business things (he does artchieture… Can’t even spell it LOL) but yeah, he took photos and some of the photos you’ve taken look fimiliar to the photos he took haha. Esp the harbour and the city view. Haha.
Hong Kong looks beautiful. I want to go! Glad you had a great time though!!

I can’t wait for more photos!
The Symphony of Lights looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m jealous, I really want to go to Hong Kong again one day, I was far too young to remember all those years ago, and time has definitely changed.
Heights scare me, I don’t think I could even LOOK at that exceptionally tall building. I can’t believe it’s residential haha. You’d have to add an extra 15 minutes travel to your travel to work with that height.
You have such a beautiful view from where you are. :’)

These views are all amazing and wonderful! :O
The Symphony of Lights is my favorite so far… When you say permanent, does that mean it happens every night or that it goes on all of the time?
I also like the night views! :}

Although I haven’t been to Hong Kong, but I really feel it’s an awesome place. I kinda enjoy their movies especially when there is Jackie Chan. Some of my friends have been to Hong Kong Disneyland and they said it’s fantastic. Keeping my fingers crossed that I may visit Hong Kong some day.
Regards,
Lydia.

Hong Kong looks so amazing from the pictures! So many skyscrapers, something that my country lacks. And if you think Hong Kong is small, you should see my country’s city. It’s so small, you could check out all the places in less than half a day. :p
Symphony of Lights! It looks awesome. Imagine how much electricity they use up there.
Permanent light and sound show? You mean they’re “on” 24/7?? o_O
Looking forward to your post on the desserts.

Hi Krystal! Thanks for your comment.
Hong Kong is such a beautiful city! I’ve always wanted to visit. My cousins once removed, or twice removed, or my second cousins once removed or something like that, used to live in Hong Kong. I always wanted to visit them there, but unfortunately they moved back to America. I guess I can always go to Hong Kong without ‘em.
Well I certainly will have to go to Hong Kong now that I’ve read this.

Hong Kong sounds like an amazing city. I would love to visit anywhere in Asia because the culture is so different from my own. It would be so interesting! I am glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. I didn’t know Hong Kong was considered small. o:
Wow, it does have a lot of skyscrapers. They look so cool, though. That might be one of the prettiest pictures I have seen of such an urban environment. The Symphony of Lights looks so cool! I would probably be scared if I had to live more than a few floors up in that building.

Oh! This post just makes me miss Hong Kong so much! I haven’t been there for so long and I miss it lots and lots!!! I’m so jealous!

Hong Kong a small city? Gosh it’s immense. I think I could never live there. You should see my town. It’s soo small:-s. And we don’t have any skyscrapers:D
The photos are amazing. I hope you post more soon.

WOW! Hong Kong looks magnificent! That is amazing that you got to visit! I don’t think I’ll ever have an opportunity like this since it seems impossible for me to go to the other side of the world, let alone with my parents.
Plus, it seems like you had a great time! Ha, it looks like you had an awesome vacation. My summer has been pretty boring and I feel like I haven’t done much. Plus, I’m starting school in less than 2 weeks. :/
The skyscrapers look magnificent! Ah.
I hope to see more pictures of your visit soon!:D

It will definitely be fun:d. I can’t wait:)
Being alone is relaxing and knowing that no one bothers you. It’s amazing:D.
I love school and I can’t wait to get back there<3

Yes, that’s exactly what Camp Half-Blood is. It was a lot of fun!
Yep, pandas are adorable. I’m glad they’re gentle and not vicious or anything, ’cause that would totally ruin the whole cute factor. xD

That is all right! I bet it is pretty confusing. I don’t think I would understand your schooling system if I got to look at it either! Thank you very much.
Oh, that is pretty small. It certainly seems bigger than that! I suppose they just built up instead of out.

Wow, those are some views. Hong Kong (well, China overall) is on my list of “Places I Must Visit Before I Die”. Not only is the culture interesting, but so is the scenery. I know a lot of places in China don’t look like that, but even at that, it’s a place different than my own, and would love to experience it first hand someday.
PLUS I’d like to look over at those “ghost cities” everyone talks about every now and then. :p
