Something old and something new

I went to the gym on Tuesday evening. It has been a some time since I’ve been. I did 20 minutes on the rower then spend 10 minutes on weights. Does not sound very much does it? Well, the next day my thigh and tummy was aching a bit. They felt worked out! Time to get back to gyming regularly.

Finding motivating to exercise is always hard. I can’t understand how people can regularly attend the gym and exercise for over an hour. A friend of my mum’s goes to the gym for around 1hr 30mins at least three times a week. I really have no idea how she finds the motivation. I just get so bored after 20-30mins even with music. It’s doing the same movement over and over again. Music helps a bit, but not that much.

I’m going to attempt to do stomach crunches every night before bed. Notice the word “attempt”. I keep saying that I’ll do something regularly but I always forget about it after a few days. I think I just get distracted before bed. I normally just get off the computer, brush my teeth and jump into bed.

An update to my jewellery store

I have been using PayPal shopping cart buttons for my jewellery store the last few months. It’s okay, however it’s pretty manual and not much control over the cart page layout. I decided to create my own simple shopping cart application. It was quicker for me to code that then to figure out how to style an existing application.

I’ve also changed the url to http://store.essencious.org. This will be the last time I’ll change the store url. I’m going to stick to this one now. I’ll be working on improving the store over the next couple of weeks. Here’s a screenshot of the store:

I like the new store layout :) It looks really neat and organized :)

ahh.. gyming. I am not a fan! I prefer to imagine that my body will magically work off all the calories for me as I sleep – sadly, that doesn’t happen :(

Exercising is more fun if someone goes with you ;) It helps motivating though exercising alone can help to clear your head as well :)

The store looks really good btw ;3

I’m impressed you wrote the code yourself! I know you’re good at that kind of thing but every time I hear about someone doing a big project like that on their own I still get impressed.

To be honest I don’t think that going to the gym for many hours necessarily means you’re doing a lot of work. What helps people burn calories is that they’re doing intense work – and though you were only there for half an hour or so – you might have done work that pushed your body further than it could, so you probably did a better job. Apparently burning more fat happens when you push your body as far as you can.

It’s pretty hard finding motivation to exercise but I’ve been making it a regular thing lately, and I’ve been enjoying it a lot more. I try to do something before bed, like situps, but sometimes I can’t be bothered. It kind of helps doing it at that time because you can just crash right after. XD

OMG I need to do crunches so bad myself, but it’s just a little embarrassing to sit there and have people watching me do it u_u (aka my husband and son). xD

Funny but that’s what I think everyday when my boyfriend comes home. He goes everyday after work and works out. He’s always so eager to go and invites me to go with him but 1) lost my gym pass and 2) tired/lazy. I feel as if I have no energy to work out.

I don’t find it particularly boring but it’s like – hey I have something better to do, I don’t want to do this. The only thing that’s making me feel OK about skipping the gym is my daily walk to and from work and home. Sigh.

Maybe we can be gym buddies. (motivate eachother about going to the gym – even though we don’t really know eachother well :P )

Ugh I have no motivation to go to the gym with all the sweaty people … I’d rather go for a run but the weather here is horrible. Too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. Spring and fall are so short I barely have time to run around the neighborhood.

Your store looks great! I’d want to see a new layout maybe if you have time. =D

Many Chinese-Chinese or Korean-Korean would love to date an American-Korean or British-Chinese or what combos just to stay in the country … here you instantly get permanent residency and you can become a citizen within a few years I believe.

Omg, if I can go to Korea with him that would be so awesome and also the death of me. That’s the last thing my mom would approve, it’s so ridiculous and awesome that it’s hilarious …

I know exactly how you feel. My first time to the gym, I did thirty minutes and the next day I couldn’t move. Now that I go more often it doesn’t really change lol. I think it’s because of all of my health problems but I actually like the soreness. I know I did something.

Your store looks great too btw. I totally understand about trying to figure out the coding to a web store. I tried using zencart, prestoshop and others. I just decided I was going to come up with my own as well.
