Users’ views

The users’ views and opinions are one of the most important factor in a successful project, especially in software and games development. I’m a big MMORPG fan and have been playing them since I was 15 (yes I know, I’m a total geek). A successful MMORPG not only needs to be fun, unique and exciting, but it also needs to meet the users’ needs. This is the same for software too.

One very common issue is mis-interruption or thinking too far ahead when it isn’t needed. The users want something pretty simple that might only take a few hours to a days to completely. The developers would develop something amazing and clever but it that took months and months to completely. By then the users are not longer interested and in the case of a game they would have quit and forgotten about it.

I like to play free MMORPGs where they have cash shop for players to buy in game enhancements with real cash. Many of these types of MMORPGs generally take a long time to release small bug fixes and a even longer time to release anything new. It’s also common that the new features aren’t really want the players want. I feel that most MMORPG companies don’t listen to players. It seems that all they can think about is how to learn money so they just release more items to the cash shop rather than to the game.

Earning money is really important but without players where will the money come from. It’s so important to earn money but also keep the players happy. If players are happy they will stay loyal to be game and will spend money on it. It just annoys me so much when game companies do that. They don’t bother doing anything about the game till they’ve earn enough money or sometimes don’t even bother at all because they are earning enough.

I do have the habit of playing MMORPGs when they’re first released. That is actually a pretty bad move because a free MMORPG generally don’t become good and stable for at least 6 months.

I’m currently playing Priston Tales 2 and wow it’s bad! So many bugs and issues that needs addressing. They have claimed that they will be releasing a big patch with loads of changes soon. I’m not so sure that changes are a good thing, they should stick with addressing current issues and what players really want. Sometimes the changes can make it worse. Well I’ll find out soon enough, when the patch is released.

Oh I love MMORPGs! I think I’ve mentioned this before. But I’m a bit picky on this. I only choose the ones that have good graphic qualities and they also have to have witty dialogues. Lol!

Yeah, these games out to have cash shops as to keep the players. My boyfriend’s a bit against this. He used to tell me: “why pay if you can get it for free?” (free here refers to the free accounts). But I think he’s changing his mind slightly nowadays, I sense he’s willing to pay a some bucks for the game that he loves so much.

It irritates me as well when the game developers take soo long to patch up all those glitches and fix the bugs. And sometimes they just leave some storylines unfinished, which means you can’t never finish the scene. I hope they will come to realise this because if they don’t, you bet they’re gonna start losing some players and fans. And you’re right, some of these game companies should listen to the players’ opinions. Perhaps they could do some surveys to find out what most players want to see and what should be removed, etc.

I hope the changes on Priston Takes will be positive ones. It’d be frustrating to have to wait for a long time just to find out that the fixes are useless.

aww i love ringsss. i’m going to probably help you out though & buy a necklace from you. i do love necklaces too. what about bracelets!?!

Omg by the way, my friend’s birthday is in november. is there any way i could order like a special request piece from you? i mean it doesn’t have to be one of a kind, i was just wondering. i’d love to get her something totally unique.

btw i know i’m not capitalizing my words but it’s cool…i’m lazy like that. haha.

i’m reallly glad you read my blog! :D yayy. yeah it’s okay we take people for granted sometimes & it’s just because we get comfortable. i guess we can never really be happy all the time. i mean i am happy with my boyfriend, i just want to be even happier hahaha..if that’s possible. why can’t our needs ever be satisfied?!?! i guess we’re just ever changing & our demands are ever..demanding!

what dslr are you going to get!?! i recommend the nikon d90 because then you could record video…in hd! & it’s the first camera company to incorporate video + dslr! awesome eh? that’s what i want next. hahaa. i have a d60. i’d totally sell it to you but that’s only if i had enough money to buy a d90. or if i see the need to buy a d90. which i don’t. haha. i love my camera, just bummed it doesn’t record videos.

I love video games! I’ve been playing them since I was really really young. I actually don’t know what games I’ve played that are classified as MMORPGs though. But I do know what you’re talking about. I mean it’s definitely annoying when the game companies decide to toss in 28349237487 ads everywhere & don’t listen to people’s complaints..they do just want the money.

Which is why Blizzard (game company) has focused more of their resources on developing new expansion packs for friggin WoW because it earns them more money than say..StarCraft II or Diablo III..simply because those games are a one time payment & that’s it versus WoW which requires a monthly subscription I believe. UGH. damn them!!! Money .. just makes the world go round for people these days. I get why..I honestly understand why they cater to those that play WoW over those that are anxious for SCII but COME ON…STARCRAFT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN WOW. -_-

But anyway I’ve played…gunbound! I don’t think that’s an MMORPG though. I don’t know really..but they had tons of bugs but they fix them every month. It’s a fun game & not too addicting. You should try Ruinscape if you haven’t already. My brother used to play that game all the time. It’s free too!

I’m not much of a gamer and i don’t know much about software lol, but you’re right. If you want your game or software to be accepted and used by many people, you need to take into the consideration of the users/players. People these days are so caught up in money. I’d rather a game or something to take forever to come out because of them taking the time to make the graphics and game play good than it being rushed and crappy.

I have never even heard of MMORPGs. Is it some sort of video game or program? I am sorry that I cannot really relate to the post much. :(

Oh, that is really fine. I am glad I let you know. XD I was just confused. I was like “Didn’t I leave a longer comment than that response? Hmmm…” LOL. It’s finee though!

Aww, it is no problem at all; I just thought since you are new to me, I should greet you. :3

I like fairies and stuff. XD I know what you mean..last year, an entire group of my friends were obsessed with the books. I never got around to reading them though. :O

I notice that. If you make your own layouts, the layouts made by you look very similar to the others because the styles are most likely the same. Ha! Well, their loss. :D

I have to agree. The user is so important in the development of anything. I see it very important when designing a website but a game is the same! I don’t play games but I know sometimes people give up on them when they begin to fail. :P Some of them get boring after several versions.

I feel like not just with games, but with other things, customers are not satisfied. One of my teachers said, “When has Facebook ever asked users what they thought of their website?”

I’m sorry there’s not too much I can say on this blog; I hope the game improves over time, haha. Most games would be expected to be wiry in the early months.

Haha yeah, I do return my comments all the time.. I think it’s out of habit now. :/

I plan to get there eventually, watching all the Doctor Who eps. My friends are fans and I feel like I would like it too if I watched.

Wow, you guys must be really close. I don’t know if it’s dissipated now, but that’s pretty disappointing. :( Who knows, maybe you’ll just click again after some time. But sometimes we have to let those good friends go, and things just change.
