Around the world drug store make up
Make up brands generally like to number all their different shades of lipstick, eyeshadow etc. I always find many missing numbers at drug stores, e.g. BRAND A sells eyeshadows in number 5, 8, 29, 75, 80 but where’s all the numbers in between?
I think I have discovered where all the other numbers are. It seems that each country have different shades on certain products even though it’s from the same brand. I’ve been trying to look for several lipsticks and eyeshadows that has been recommended by Youtube make up gurus from the US or Canada. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find them at my local drug stores or even online. After surfing some USA websites I actually discovered that the shades are not always the same. There are a few common colours but most are different. Although it looks like similar colours but it’s not the same number.
That is kinda annoying because I really want a few shades recommended by these gurus but they aren’t sold in the UK
Sometimes they’re given a different name, e.g in the USA the new Maybelline eyeshadows quads are called “Eye Studio™ Color Plush™ Silk Eyeshadow” whereas in the UK it’s called “Eye Studio™ Diamond Glow“, that took me some time to figure that it’s the same just with a different name and a different set of shades. Kinda annoying really because I want some of the shades from the USA.
We don’t have the Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in “Airy Fairy” which again is a highly recommended shade
I would really really LOVE to do a drug store make up swap with someone from the USA. Then I can have some of the shades from the USA and person I’m swapping with can have some shades from the UK. Anyone interested?

I bet there’s like a black market for makeup… lol or, well, there should be so that you can get the shades you want in a really cool way!! XD Being a guy and all, I don’t really wear makeup, so the swap thing might not work out with me!

Wow, I never realized that either! That’s probably it, then. That’s so weird that like, certain things are only available in one country.
I guess you could try buying stuff online (like makeup) from a USA store and have it shipped there? I don’t know, haha.
Good luck with finding someone to swap with!

That’s really weird! It’s really strange that the colors varies even if they comes from the same collection. Odd. Someone should investigate!

I’m really not into makeup at all so I’m not even familiar with the drugstore makeups here. Shame, my mum being a beauty consultant and all. XD I don’t even THINK the drugstores here sell makeup. O_O
I never even noticed that numbers were missing from stock.. my mum said that sometimes they’re just not in stock anymore or discontinued. Who knows, they might be available overseas then!
Sorry I can’t help you because I’m not from the US. XD

I wish I could do some kind of swap but I live in the UK too so it kind of sucks. Whilst Reading this blog, I’ve relizied how the most awesome stuff are in USA.
I don’t really like using eyeshadow, I only use it when there’s something big. I just usually wear eyeliner and that’s it.

Wow, I never knew that! Then again, I am not really into make-ups. I wear them sparingly and only for special and important occasions.
I’m sorry I can’t help you there. If the make-ups are not available in the UK, I very much doubt it is available in my country. Perhaps you could just buy them through online stores?

I also noticed that everytime I go to the mall to buy make-up. Certain shades or products that are used by make-up gurus are not available in our country which is just too bad because I want to try ‘em. I really don’t wear eyeshadow and eyeliner that much. I always stick with the no-make-up look or barely there look. But I’m really addicted with mascara.
