What’s your price?

I started looking into jewellery making a little while ago and got really interested in it. I bought some components to test it out. I won’t be able to keep buying pieces all the time due to the cost. So I was thinking of selling some of the pieces I make in the future to help fund for new pieces.

This snowflake necklace is my very first creation, I thought I’ll start of with something really simple because I’ve never done this before.. It’s made from a Swarovski crystal with sterling silver components (the chain is also silver but it came out a bit gold due to my horrible yellow lamp!). The snowflake is a 20mm Clear Swarovski AB crystal. The clear AB crystal has a little golden glow when worn on bare skin as you can see in the second image.

20mm on your ruler probably seems very small but when worn it is actually pretty big. I think it is just the right size for a cute yet simple necklace. Here’s a picture of me wearing it to give you in idea of the size.

Here’s the question for you guys:

  • How much would you pay for this snowflake necklace? Include in your total price the following: the necklace itself, the gift box packaging and also postage.

Hey thats a cute design there! considering it’s custom made and hand made too i’m willing to pay £20 ($30) as a gift for someone.
Swarvoski crystals are the best! which i believe cost more then regular crystals what about the chain is that plated silver or real silver

So pretty! I’ve always wanted to make these necklaces too.
I’m not too sure how much Swarvoski crystals are but I see other sellers selling them for at least $20+.
It’s a bit expensive for a necklace in my opinion, but I know it’s Swarvoski = amazing quality. But I tend to stick with cheaper plastic/wood necklaces hahas :D

Wow! That is very pretty! :) I would love one…I don’t know about prices. I am very bad with them. You should ask those jewelry-makers/sellers about what price they think it’s worth. I think it’s better if they told you so it’ll be a more accurate amount of how much it is worth! :)

And yes, the footnotes is a plug-in! :) I’m having fun with it, but it looks really bulky. I can’t make the font smaller and I think it’s because of my theme. :( Oh wells.

Wow that’s really pretty! I used to make jewelry at one of the call centers I used to work at. Nothing as pretty as that though. Mostly stuff to just give away to friends and such. Just out of bordem. I would say $30 is a fair asking price.

Wow, that’s a very pretty necklace! I’ve always wanted to try making my own jewelery, but was never motivated enough to actually go out and buy the materials. As for the price, considering it’s made from Swarovski crystal, I’d say you could charge $25 or more and people would buy it :)

I think it’s a beautiful necklace! I love making jewelry. I haven’t done it in so long though. I miss it.

If I had the money to spend on jewelry (and I rarely ever do) and I wanted the necklace (its beautiful but not something i’d normally wear), I would easily spend $25 including postage.

Ahhh, since I make my own jewellery, I never buy any (lol), unless it’s really special or something that I cannot create myself. I would price it between $20-30. I’d pay *up to* an additional $5 for shipping and handling (i.e. postage + packaging). However, I’m not the type to be won over by excessive packaging, so I would prefer to have it mailed in simple packaging (i.e. bubble wrap, tissue paper, plain packaging, no box).

I made jewelry in high school. It can be expensive, thank god I didn’t need to pay for it and just did it in shop class (gotta love a shop class with jewelry functionality).

Beautiful! I would pay probably about $30 + postage, but my price is kind of iffy since I live in the UK and am used to expensive pricing!
