Buying things online
I’m a huge online buyer fan. I love buying things online and I do find that they are cheaper. Then there’s the delivery charge of £2-3 GBP or sometimes $4-9 USD! After looking at the delivery charge I’m a bit like “that’s a lot of delivery charge”. Do you sometimes get put off by the delivery charge as well?
I’ve found many online make up stores and the cost of their products are much cheaper than drug stores and mostly better quality. I do think second about purchasing products because of the delivery charge. My boyfriend made an extremely valid comment last night. He said that the cost of me travelling there will equal the same. I never really thought of it like that because I would purposely travel to central London to purchase some product and end up spending more on travel + food (as it’ll be a whole day trip). Yet I’ll be put off by a £2-4 delivery charge!
Do you like purchasing things online? And what do you think about online stores?
p.s. I usually only buy non-clothing/shoes products that don’t really require me to try it on to see if it fits. Clothing and shoes I prefer to go to the shop and try it on first.

The difference is that if you go to a shopping center, you have the option of buying from multiple items from different shops. All are covered by the same cost. However, if you try buying online from multiple vendors, you’ll incur shipping costs with each one. Unless of course you buy from Amazon and buy more than $25 worth to get the free shipping.

Same with Ebay, you can get a discount for buying multiple items from the same seller.

i love buying things online but because i live in canada, shipping charges are always so expensive

Yeah it seems like some of those shipping charges to Canada are outrageous.

Omgosh yes the amount that some people charge is crazy, I just say “oh i’ll wait and see what i see in the store” sometimes it does pay off to wait, but other times, you really get a good deal online. Here in Massachusetts, stores are much closer than they are for you, as you said you would need to travel to London, I know how it was because I lived in England for 3 years, 6 months in London itself, so yeah I know how things can get expensive with travel costs.

Yeah, that happens to me a lot
It’s always such a tease since I’m like “YAY, cheap quality products! wait, what? $8 shipping?! Ugh!”
I always try to look for a free shipping coupon for the site, or if possible, buy enough so that I can avoid the shipping cost. The only time when I’m willing to pay for shipping is if I need the product in a rush, eg. last minute presents

I LOVELOVELOVE buying stuff online, but the shipping rates are ridiculous sometimes that I gave up on buying what I wanted.
The product is already expensive enough and they have to make the shipping expensive as well. I just don’t get it, but I guess that’s how they make money. And I am pretty sure that if they went to the postal office, shipping isn’t THAT expensive or nearly that expensive. Sigh…

Lol you know me as a eBay fanatic! I will buy anything and everything from eBay. As for clothes and shoes… Say I want to buy a dress from Jane Norman, I will go into their store and try on their dresses to see what size I am, then I’ll search for that size on eBay. Simple!

The very first stuff I’ve bought online was a book. But it costs the same as the one’s in the store. With the shipping and handling. So, I guess I wasted my time waiting for a week for the book. I also buy movie tickets online coz it actually assures me that I got a seat to the movie I’m watching. It’s still the same cost though if I go to the theater to buy it.
Yeah, I actually do think twice if I’m buying stuff online. Coz they have the credit card number, and you don’t really know where the information lands. So it’s quite scary.
I actually want to try to buy clothes and shoes online, coz I heard it was cheaper. But I can’t find a good online store for cheap stuff. I’m still surfing the web for that.

The delivery charge/shipping cost often turns me off when buying online. The worst for me was when I was buying a few shirts for about $20, and the shipping turned out to be more than triple that amount – it was about $80. I was really ticked off and felt like I had wasted my time. Because that’s a lot of money. I don’t like spending a lot of money on the delivery/shipping.
The only things I buy online are domains (drool!), shirts and band merchandise. Everything else I deem expensive and would much rather buy offline. If it weren’t for the shipping costs… I would be buying everything online, believe me.

BTW, do you want to exchange links?

Ahh I’m so sorry that I never returned your comment but here it isss:
I actually don’t have a D90, I want one. I have a D60.
Canons have really nice point & shoots. I think you’ll be satisfied with it. I kind of want to get the one that can take pictures underwater. It’s really neat & it takes decent pictures. I’d definitely use it if I went to the beach or something. But I’d only use that camera to take pictures underwater. After you have a DSLR, every point & shoot just takes shit pictures. haha. it’s kind of sad but you just notice the difference. It’s kind of like being downgraded from a a brand new BMW to a beat up ’93 Honda. Why would you trade in a top quality luxury car for a beat up one? hahaa but that’s just my opinion. Sometimes I forget how to use a point & shoot & look through the hole. hahaha.
I buy boooks online!!
I don’t really buy cosmetics online just because I have to test that out before I buy it. I need to get new eyeliner though..that isn’t from MAC because it’s overpriced & it’s not really good for your skin.
Your boyfriend is smart. Haha it’s very very true. You will waste more money on gas & food than a delivery charge. But a delivery charge of $4-9 USD is a lot of friggin money. That’s why when I buy books from Amazon (which has a shipping fee of $3.99) I always try to buy the cheapest version of the book in the second to best condition. haha.
